Work package 4: IT basis
Teachers and students should find attractive, functional and reliable environments in daily use that support them in the processes and organization of teaching and learning in a variety of ways and in which their data is securely stored.
In work package 4, cross-university solutions are being developed for the immense challenges posed by the maintenance of basic technological services, learning management systems and tools as well as their ongoing updating and further development. This is also associated with the requirement to develop stable systems that are protected against external interference, operational disruptions and capacity bottlenecks in order to ensure the digital sovereignty of the universities.
Various learning management systems (LMS) are currently used by the partners (Stud.IP, Moodle, ILIAS). As all LMS systems offer their own strengths in use, this appears to be a good starting point for the joint development of innovative cross-platform and platform-integrating solutions. Here, the technical requirements and needs from work package 1 - Agile Innovation Network - are taken up, implemented, tested and optimized for regular operation.
The specific measures in work package 4 relate to the following areas:
- Server infrastructure and basic services
- LMS: Stud.IP, Moodle and ILIAS
- Opencast event recording system
- Video conferencing systems (commercial and non-commercial)
