The Computer Center of Clausthal University of Technology supports you in registering your own Internet domains for projects. Websites can be operated under your domain and e-mail addresses can be set up via the central e-mail and groupware system. There are numerous top-level domains (TLDs) available, e.g. .de, .com, .org, .net, .eu - we will check availability on request.

The computer center of Clausthal University of Technology operates a university-wide content management system (CMS) based on Typo3. Institutes and facilities are offered web hosting in the TUC layout, including domain administration.

A user account gives you access to the Typo3 backend, which enables even inexperienced users without programming knowledge to manage website content. Prefabricated templates and layout specifications from the data center make it easier to design the page structure and content. The editorial manual provides support during use and shows options and specifications for creating and editing websites.

The data center offers the option of providing static websites on a Linux Apache server. This allows users to create and manage their own websites in HTML. A common and generally preferable alternative is the use of Typo3 for website design (see Web and content management systems).

Server housing is used to house IT systems of TUC institutes in the central machine room of the data center. We take care of the power supply, installation in 19" racks, connection to the IT network infrastructure and air conditioning. Sufficient security is ensured with fire protection, intrusion protection, access control and building monitoring systems. The administration of the systems is carried out by the requesting employee of the respective institution.

The data center also provides virtual machines in a clustered infrastructure. You can apply for the creation of virtual machines with the Windows or Linux operating system. All conditions can be found in the linked form.
